Friendly fiber as material of textiles can be divided into natural, recycled, energy-efficient and reduction waste type. Natural type fiber including organic cotton, bamboo fiber, chitosan fiber and milk fiber. Recycled type fiber including recycled PET and recycled nylon. Energy-efficient type fiber including PLA fiber and PPT fiber. Reduction waste type fiber including coconut fiber and palm fiber.
What is Organic Cotton?
Organic cotton is also cotton — but it's different because of its production process. The use of pesticides in cotton planting accounts for 10% of worldwide usage. But the land on which organic cotton is planted must be free of pesticides for two years, followed by planting non-GMO cotton seeds, and without the use of any synthetic agricultural chemicals, such as fertilizers or pesticides.
Advantages of Organic Cotton
The main advantage of organic cotton is planting in a more environmentally friendly way. Positive impact on environmental sustainability including natural defoliation, no harm to farmers, no chemical removal of weeds, no genetically modified seeds, organic compost, conservation and water recycling, soil balance, and eco-friendly practices.
In addition to the advantages of general cotton, organic cotton can promote fair trade and protect cotton farmers. In textiles, it is more breathable and comfortable, warm and soft, absorbs water and keeps warm. Since organic cotton is not chemically treated, it does not induce allergic phenomena such as asthma or atopic dermatitis.
